So I headed to the trendy clubs, an assembly facility of the club founded by industry legend Mark Timms, who has offices in seven locations throughout the United States. When I arrived, my editors Kevin Bresnahan and Justin Nelson put me up in front of their Trackman launch monitor, which uses radar to calculate how much you hit the shots in a little fly on the course.

I warmed up and hit my driver. The numbers? Average distance 211 yards and 35 yards off line. Ouch.

Kevin and Justin quickly diagnosed the problem. The tree stock on my TaylorMade R11 was much too soft for my swing.It not only lead to hit the ball shorter, but it lead to my problems and control.
