Railroad club members enjoy sharing their hobby

Having grown up with the railway model club members Blackhawk Model Railroad love the opportunity to pass along a hobby that can be enjoyed by children of all ages.

The club has a network of trains on the second floor of Conover Square, Oregon, and are open to the public three times a week and by appointment.

This gives members the chance to share their hobby with a younger generation, which is something that enhances their own enjoyment in the hobby.

The Summer Reading Club—theme “One World, Many Stories”—for all ages ends Aug. 7.

All are welcome to pick up the library’s August 2011 calendar of events and programs. New events are added all the time. Among August activities:

YOUTH

Baby Lapsit Storytime: Parents bring their 6- to 18-month-old babies and enjoy reading a story together on Monday, Aug 8, and Aug 22, at 11:30 a.m.

Preschool Storytime: Preschoolers enjoy a fun story every Wednesday at 11 a.m. They make crafts at 11:30 a.m.

Toddler Storytime: Stories are read from a selection of favorite children’s books every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
