Clay High coach takes on double duty

Jared Moses, the coach of the basketball team Clay High School girls for the past eight years, accepted the additional position of boys basketball coach at the same school, replacing Josh Freeman.

In response to the news, many people in his orbit said Moses was crazy, including the main clay Pete McCabe.

"Just about everyone I said ... told me, "Moses said.

Moses gave up his duties as assistant football coach to focus solely on basketball.Both McCabe and athletic director Kevin Staefa were on board with the plan for months to coordinate practice and games for girls and boys basketball teams. Moses said there are probably half a dozen nights where boys and girls schedules conflict. But he has a plan for staffing the games, which includes the help of his assistant coaches - Dan Toblini, Junior Varsity head coach, Doug Eason and Anthony Caldwell.
