Scott Harvey of Greensboro realized a dream by matching the feat of his father to win the Carolinas Amateur Championship, finishing Sunday with a 1-under 71 to win by two strokes to par value in 7281.
"This is the only one I wanted more than any of them," Harvey said after his final at Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina "This is the first amateur event in the south east with a long list of champions, including my father.

Two arrested for vandalizing North Myrtle Beach golf course ...
North Myrtle Beach police arrested two Little River residents on charges of vandalizing and damaging golf course property last year, according to a statement from Pat Dowling, a spokesman for the City of North Myrtle Beach.
Michael Westdyke and Danielle Wilson are charged in connection with an incident at Barefoot Resort & Golf in last November, according to the statement.
Westdyke and Wislon used all terrain vehicles to damage golf course property, according to the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety. It took several months to repair the damages, which cost more than $10,000, according to the statement.
